The outer 4 coulters of the Veris inject a current into the soil, the conductivity is measured across those points.  This measurement is stored as a 12-30 inch "Deep" value.  The same process goes on between the inner 4 coulters.  That measurement is stored as a 0-12 inch "Surface" value.  Both values are tagged with a GPS provided location and written to a file.
